Got another song on my mind tonight--"The Voice of Truth" by Casting Crowns. I was feeling a little down today when I got in my van for a short trip out of town. I clicked on the radio and heard this:
"The giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me,
reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed.
The giant keeps on telling me time and time again, boy,
you'll never win, you'll never win."
"But the voice of Truth tells me a different story.
The voice of Truth says do not be afraid.
The voice of Truth says this is for My glory.
Out of all the voices calling out to me,
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of Truth."
I feel like I fail quite a bit. There are times I think I'll never get ahead or never learn it right. But God knows my intentions. This song was a needed reminder today that no matter what anyone else thinks, God knows my heart. No matter what a day brings, I don't need to fear. No matter what happens, God will use it for His glory. He tells me a different story. He sees beyond what things look like, what I look like. He whispers in my ear, "I know. I see. I love you." And that is enough to press on.

You're inside my head today Tami. :) Your words were like a long cold drink after a day in the desert. Thank you. :) I'm so glad God sees our hearts and loves us inspite of... us. :) Thanks for the refreshment. *ahhhh* :)
You always amaze and delight me! There are very few people in the world that are willing to be as open and honest as you are. I truly love that about you and I am proud to have you as my wife. God has blessed you with great insight and wisdom through all the tough times and yes, Truth is what we need to cling to at all times. God is not the only one saying to you, "I know. I see. I love you." I am too!
I am proud of you and feel privileged to call you wife, best friend, confidant and lover.
Wow, God has given you a great gift in your writing and I thank God that He brought you into my life at just the right time. A lump formed in my throat when I read those song lyrics. I've been hearing "The giant's" laughter all day today. But it's so important that we hold onto Truth. In 1 Corinthians Paul writes, "we get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going." We have to remember that Jesus is waiting to help us up and get us back on track.
I had some catching up to do today so I read all your posts and all the comments. I am constantly in awe of you and so blessed to have you as a sister (in Christ and in our family!) Your honesty is so refreshing and it makes me feel like I'm not alone when I have thoughts of similar nature. (I'm sure everyone else who reads your posts feels as I do..."FINALLY, somone admits to feeling the way I do ALL the time!!!") We all feel we are failures on a regular basis. I think that is just human nature. What I like to do is remind myself that God likes to use imperfect people....failures if you will. And if God uses failures -- I must be top on his list to use next! Thank you for your words and encouragement, both on this blog and in my life!
(Can you tell the baby was sleeping during this comment -- a little windy today, huh?)
